Thanks so much to all of you who already signed up to help
at one of our biggest events in the year
St. Martin Celebration 2015
This Saturday, 11/14/2015, we are celebrating the day of Saint Martin – a day of mercy – with a lantern procession, lantern crafting, singing, a play and foods and drinks.
To make this celebration a success, we need your help!
More information about the celebration:
We will start our get-together at 4.30 pm in the Fireside Room of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer: While enjoying food* and drinks* as well as music, the children can decorate their own lanterns*. *on cash terms
At about 6.00 pm, we will go outside and see a short play regarding the story of Saint Martin, who will ride on a horse. This will be followed by a beautiful lantern procession into the church, where we will hold a family worship. Together we will return to the Fireside Room and spend a few more moments to enjoy the sea of lights and pet the horse.
Please help and join as a volunteer!
In particular we want to encourage our young friends, as confirmands and last time confirmands, to take an active part in this joyful event. Please share this information with your parents and only sign up after their approval.

There is still a lot of help needed for this event.
Here are the volunteer and contribution needs as of today:
– food/drink preparation 3:30-5pm and 6:40-7:30pm slots open each for 1 person (1)
– food/drink sale 4-5pm (1 )/5-6pm (2) 6:40-7:30pm (1)
– helpers for the children who are crafting lanterns (4-6pm 4 persons needed)
And we also need contributions towards following foods/drinks/items:
– waffle dough (8 recipes)
Recipe for Waffle dough
400 g Margarine = 14 oz=1.7 cups
300g Zucker (Sugar) = 10.5 oz=1.25 cups
2 Vanillezucker or 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
300ml Wasser (Water)= 10 oz=1.25 cups
8 Eier (eggs)
700 g Mehl (Flour)= 24.7oz=3 cups
1 Paeckchen Backpulver or take Self-raising Flour
– waffle maker (1)
– soup with meat (1 in warming pot)
– vegetarian soup (2 in warming pot)
– apple cider (1 gallon)
